The first meeting of the scientific seminar of the Department of History, Faculty of Arts, for the academic year 2024/2025 AD,

Under the auspices of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the first meeting of the scientific seminar of the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts for the academic year 2024/2025 was held today, in celebration of the fifty-one anniversary of the glorious October victories, entitled "Human Sciences and Their Role in Preparing and Paving the Way for the October 1973 War", under the supervision of Dr. Mahrous Muhammad Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty, and the vice deans, in the presence of faculty members, and an elite of academics and men of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
The university president explained that the October 6 war is one of the most important and greatest victories in the modern era, and history immortalizes it with lines of light. It is a great epic presented by the Egyptian army to regain land and dignity. It is evidence of the importance of building the human being, his culture and beliefs in creating the character of the Egyptian fighter and soldier, whose distinction has been witnessed by history and other peoples in the battlefields. This is what the Egyptian leadership is keen on now in its initiative (Bidaya) to build the Egyptian character. Therefore, the sciences and humanities interested in studying this epic in all its aspects and details, and for it to get the attention of students and researchers in the Faculty of Arts, especially the Department of History. Dr. Mahrous Ibrahim explained that the seminar included discussing the research papers of Dr. Sherif Imam, Assistant Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, entitled: “How did the October War become inevitable?” and Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Ghani, Assistant Professor of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, Beni Suef University, titled: “Human Sciences and the Construction of Collective Memory: The October War as a Model.” In addition to the speech of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Sayed Mekki, General Manager of Al-Azhar Sohag Region, entitled: “October Victories in the Memory of the Nation” . The seminar also included a number of other student activities.
