Social pressures and contemporary problems of youth A field study on community

Master Abstract

The study aims , generally , at studying the different pressures that face youth in the Egyptian society , and their impacts on both youth and society . To answer the questions raised in this study , the researcher uses both the social survey and comparative methods . The sample of the study , about 400 cases , has been chosen from the final – year students of all Bani sueif Branch faculties . the researcher has selected these cases by using a stratified random sample . The required data for this study has been collected according to some methodological techniques represented in interviewing schedule , direct observation , non – directive interview , and the analysis of records content . The study has two parts of eight chapters . The first part includes the theoretical frame work of the study. It is divided into four chapters .The first chapter introduces a sociological view of youth problems . The second chapter handles the various pressures that face youth in the Egyptian society .The third chapter expostulates the different theories that explain strains and their problems .The fourth chapter exposes both western and Arab studies that handle youth problems . The second part falls into four chapters , presenting the results of the field study .The fifth chapter deals with the methodological procedures of the study .The sixth chapter discusses how youth view social pressures that face them .The seventh chapter tackles the different types of pressures that face youth ,such as social , economic , educational, and political pressures .The eight chapter handles the pressures various social , economic , educational , psychological , and political impacts on both youth and society . The study reached the following results : 1- Egyptian youth has numerous ambitions and aspirations . 2- Egyptian youth is fully aware of the different pressures that stand in front of his ambitions. 3- The government does not care while dealing with youth problems . 4- Unemployment is the top of all pressures that youth suffers from in Egyptian society . 5- Egyptian youth suffers several social pressures like marriage delay , leisure , favoritism , difficulties in getting a place to live in , and bad treatment inside government institutions 6- Egyptian youth suffers various economic pressures , such as law income , unemployment , no balance between income and prices , difficult legal ways of earning money , and high living costs . 7- Egyptian youth suffers different political pressures as in the absence of governmental role in helping youth , contradiction between officials sayings and doings , officials constant try to declare good circumstances that are not existed , not declaring the real dangerous dimensions of the existed problems , unfair implementation of law ,bribes effect on lawful restrictions , Corruption spread , absence of the role of people’s Assembly and local councils members , and officials adherence to their chairs . 8- Egyptian youth suffers pressures of the educational system represented in no existing relation between curriculums and labor market , and the system disability to develop invention spirit in youth. 9- These pressures that face youth result in various negative social and economic effects like hating society , alienation , immigration , addiction, and crime . 10- These pressures that face youth result in different negative psychological effects , such as frustration , worry , rebellion , and low self – image . 11- Educational system pressures that face youth result in different negative effects that make youth see university education as worthless , and getting a certificate is of no use , for it is only a kind of social boasting . 12- These pressures that face youth result in several negative political effects represented in little political affiliations , not sharing in political matters , political doubt , and miscontrust of the government .

Quality of Working Life and Its Relation to Organizational Commitment and Performance

PHD Abstract

The study aims , generally , at studying the relation between quality of working life and organizational commitment and performance , and the effects of demographic , social and economic variables on organizational commitment and performance , it also shows the importance of social factors as compared to material ones in its effects on organizational performance , Finally , It show the effect of organizational commitment on organizational performance To answer the raised questions , social survey method in addition to comparative method are used by researcher . The study contains 98 cases , representing the team work members in all the branches of Alexandria bank on Beni – Sueif Governorate . The required data for this study has been collected according to some methodological techniques represented in interviewing schedule , direct observation , unstructured interview , and the analysis of documents and records content . The current study consists of two parts . The first part includes the theoretical and methodological Framework of the study. It is divided into Four chapters .The first chapter deals with the aims and the main concepts of the study. The second chapter expostulates the different theories for studying organization and analysis of work process . The third chapter exposes the various studies that handle quality of working life, organizational commitment and organizational Performance . The fourth chapter deals with the methodological procedures of the study . The second part of the study , presents the results of the field study . It falls into Four chapters , presenting the results of the field study .The fifth chapter deals with the management ’s strategies for improving the quality of working life within organization .The sixth chapter tackles effects of some demographic , social and economic variables on organizational commitment and performance , The seventh chapter discusses the relation between quality of working life to organizational commitment . The eighth chapter handles the relation between quality of working life to organizational performance . The results of the study support the validity of the following hypotheses : 1- There is a positive relation between demographic, social and economic variables , and organizational commitment and performance . 2- There is a positive relation between the improvement of quality of working life and increasing the rate of organizational commitment . 3- There is a positive relation between the improvement of quality of working life and increasing the rate of organizational Performance . 4- The relative importance of social factors has an increasing influence on organizational performance compared to materialistic ones . 5- There is a positive relation between The rate of organizational commitment and the rate of organizational performance.
