The Economic Role of Women in Petolemaic and Roman age in Egypt
Master Abstract
the content of this subject is preliminary and three chapters. The preliminary about the rights of women in ancient Egypt, and the first chapter about the rights of women in Petolemaic and roman Egypt.
The second chapter about the role of women in agriculture field in petolemaic and roman period, first, the role of women in agriculture field in petolemaic period and was she owner the land or possessed it only? She was possessed the land and leased and tenant the land too and work on this field in this period.
Second, the role of women in agriculture field in roman period. The women were the owners of lands and she was leased and tenant the lands and she was work on agriculture field and one clarifies the problems whish confronted the women in agriculture field in this period.
The third chapter about the role of women in non-agriculture field. First, content owner of women for houses, slaves, animal of transportation, and money in petolemaic period. And the role of women in hand industry and handicraft and her role in trade and art and the last her role in others field as nursery and prostitution.
Second, content owner of women for houses, slaves, animals for transportation in roman period. And her role in hand industry and handicraft and her role in trade and art as dancing and singing and the last her role in other fields such as nursery and midwifery and prostitution in this period.

This study deals with the village of PtolemaisHormos(El-lahon)
PHD Abstract
the region of Arsinoites Nomein Egypt during the two periods: the Ptolemaic and Raman. It consists of a preface, three chapters and a conclusion. The preface deals with the location of the village in the region of Arsinoites. The village of PtolemaisHormos – currently El-Lahon – at the entrance of the region by two water points defined by Distomos in the east and Tristomosin the west at the entrance of the village in the section of Herakleidesin the region of Arsinoites Nome.
Chapter one deals with administrative system in the village of PtolemaisHormosduring the two periods: the Ptolemaic and the Roman, the security, municipal, and the economic administration of the village. The researcher started with a general survey of the administrative system in the Egyptian villages and cities during this period, and then the administrativesystem of the village under discussion through the documents related to the village.
The second chapter consists of two sections: section one deals with social aspects of the village of PtolemaisHormos, discussing the classes of population of the village and the houses they lived in. As a tourist monument, the region of Arsinoiteswitnessed the visit of too many tourists during the ptolomic period, to see the region and attend the Ptolemaieiafestival from the documents of the village. The second section deals with the religious aspects in the village of PtolemaisHormos with all its gods, religions and temples in the two related periods.
The third and last chapter deals with the economic aspects of the village of Ptolemaic Hormosrelated to irrigation and agriculture in the village. It surveys its agricultural lands, its crops during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. It deals also with industry and commerce in the village, which was a linking point of transportation; either form the north to the capital of the region or the capital of the country. Or the far south to the regions of Herakliopolisand Oxyrhynchite, and the existence of a governmental bank there.Finally, the conclusion includes the findings of the study.
