The message "Evolution term cash since the beginning of the era of blogging until the end of the third century AH"

Master Abstract

Abstract of an MA. Thesis Entitled: The Development of the Critical Terms from the Beginning of the Age of Literacy to the End of the 3rd Century A.H. This research investigates the development of the critical term since the beginning of the era of literacy to the end of the third century after Hijra. The researcher depends on the basics of the historical and descriptive approaches together. The historical approach gives the researcher the possibility to follow the semantic development of the term during the given era, whereas the descriptive approach gives the possibility to examine the term accurately; to recognize the artistic and cultural reasons of its semantic extension, reduction, or even its deviation as a signifier from its original meaning. The thesis lies in three parts as follows: Part I: The Critical Discourse between Orality and Literacy. Part II: The Nature of the Terminological System between Orality and Literacy. Part III: Terms of the Discourse Industry. Part one, which is divided into two chapters, is interested in investigating the process of exchanging orality and literacy in the writings of linguists like Al-Kahlil ibn Ahmad, Al-Asma’e, Abu Hatim el-Sagistani, Tha’lab and El-Mubarrad. The researcher, then, begins to study the same phenomenon in the writings of rhetoricians like El-Jahiz, Ibn Qutaiba, and Ibn El-Mu’taz. Part II tries to investigate the terminological system of linguists and rhetoricians mentioned in the first part. Part III (Terms of the Making of Discourse) which is divided into three chapters, is interested in the detailed study of the rhetorical, critical terms during the era chosen by the researcher. Chapter one studies what the researcher calls the terms of investigation and revision like (politics, edification, acculturation, revision, filtration, and weaving). The researcher devotes the second chapter entitled:TheTerminological System of Weaving and Formulating, in which the researcher studies terms like coining, weaving, texturing, and painting, as well as other terms which approximate in critical and rhetorical meanings. The researcher also devotes the third chapter to what he calls the terminological system of the structure of discourse, concentrating on investigating the terms of the versification, compilation, collocation, joining, and coining. The fourth chapter dwells on studying the terminological system to improve discourse, including terms like enameling, improving, decorating, falsifying and other terms of approximate semantic frame.

PHD Title

Abstract of aPhDdissertationEntitled Meta-Criticism in the Fifth Century of Hijra

PHD Abstract

The subject of this study is meta-criticism in the fifth century After Higra (A.H.) and it almost takes its material from the interpretations of Arabic poetry, the purpose behind the choice of this topic, in particular, is to reveal the way on which critics passed their critical revisions each on the other’s depending on the poetic text itself, and also the extent of the agreement between their applied criticism of poetry and their literary theories on poetry itself. The study includes an introduction, three parts, and a conclusion; the introduction contains a detailed discussion on the reasons behind the choice of the topic, the methodology, its chapters, the previous studies and finally the difficulties the researcher faced to complete his thesis. Part one: is entitled: “Meta-criticism in the Frame of the Seven Conventions of Arabic poetry (Amoud el-She’r)”, the researcher divides this part into two chapters: chapter one is entitled: “Critical Revisions According El-Marzouqy”, Chapter two is entitled: “The Critical Revisionary Discourse in the Criticism of Abu El-Alla”, these two chapters concentrate on the poetry of Abu-Tammamwhom they make a basic authority for treating meta-criticism. Part two is devoted to the critical revision of the poetry of El-Mutanabbi, chapter one of this part is entitled: “Meta-Criticism and the Revisions of the Poetry of El-Mutanabbi”, the researcher divides it into three chapters”, the first chapter is entitled: “Meta-Criticism of the Meta-Discourse of Ibn Jenni”. Chapter two is entitled: “Meta-Criticism in the Discourse of El-Mutanabbi According to El-Wahidi”, chapter three is entitled: “Revisions of Interpreters of Critics”. The study is concluded by dedicating part three to treating (poetics of the critical discourse of Abdel Kaher el-Jorgani”, this part is divided into two chapters, the first is entitled: el-Nazm (versification) as a theory of poetry”, chapter two is entitled: “The Poetics of the Image in the Critical Discourse of Abdel-Kaher el-Jorgani”. The researcher depends in this treatment of his topic on the analytical method without ignoring the historical approach necessary for treating meta-criticism as a sequence in the development of visions and opinions from one critic to another. The researcher referred, at the end of this study to a number of results, most important of which are: • We should not be satisfied with theoretical categories of the critic to judge his attitude towards poetry, we should put these categories in their context of application, or more accurately, in the context of the revisions and interpretation of poetry. • Of these results is that deep contemplation in the treatment of Abdel-Kaher el-Jorgani of poetry reveals that he did not go far beyond the categories of classical critics and their visions on this art in spite of his intuitions and deep analyses, figures of speech according to him remained an improvement of the primary meanings, namely: the form is separated from the meanings, the images of the figures of speech especially the metaphor should controlled by the logic of the mind that should not be transcended.
