Services in the New Valley Governorate
Master Abstract
The current study discussed "Services in the New Valley Governorate" from a geographical standpoint, based on suitable approaches, quantitative and cartographic methods.
The study is in five chapters preceded by an introduction and followed by a conclusion. The introduction provides the reasons for choosing the topic, the study area, the objectives of the study and its stages. In addition, the curriculum, methods and difficulties of the study and its contents were presented.
Chapter I studied the geographical factors affecting the distribution of services in the New Valley governorate including location, size, structure, topography, water resources and finalized by the study of population.
Chapter II dealt with the infrastructure services, where it demonstrated studies about drinking water, sewage, electricity, roads and transport, telecommunications and mail services.
Chapter III studied educational services ranging from general education followed by Azhar education and university education, also reviewed the study of one-class education services and literacy services. This was conducted through studying the size of each service separately then, its efficiency, its most prominent problems and the future estimation were considered as well.
Chapter IV discussed health services by studying the size of this service and its components such as hospitals and rural centers, family planning centers. Then, it studied the efficiency of each in comparison to the population and the inhabited area. Finally, it studied the future estimation needed for the governorate population.
Chapter V stressed studying a number of services called "miscellaneous services". The chapter started with touristic services then the recreational services which include sport services, social clubs, cultural services, gardens and parks. After that, it shed light on social services followed by provision and religion services. Next, it dealt with security and administration services. It then ended with studying waste disposal services.
The conclusion posed the most important results drawn from the study and the recommendations which the study called for.
