What is power and its dimensions: A study in contemporary political thought.

Research Abstract

The existence of power is necessary and urgent in any society to regulate the affairs of these individuals who live within it. Political thinkers have recognized throughout the ages the importance of the existence of authority, the importance of determining the role that their representatives must play, the tasks entrusted to them and the limits that they must not exceed. In this sense, the research deals with the assumption that there are negative dimensions associated with the authority emptying of its content as an organizational relationship between the ruler and the ruled. This hypothesis is linked to a set of sub-assumptions that can be formulated in the form of questions as follows: To what extent has power become an instrument of violence? How does the Authority help to impose political influence? What are the dimensions of the relationship between power and hegemony? What role do political parties play in power? Do the masses have a real role in power, and what is the nature of this role?
