Inversion in the Glorious Qur'an: A Rhetorical Study in the Light of Qur'anic Miraclous Domain. The Study poses the following questions: What is the rhetorical significance of inversion as a domain of the miraculous power of the Qur'an? What is the rhetorical significance of deviation from the standard structure via inversion in the Qur'an? The researcher answers these questions adopting a descriptive analytical approach. The study differentiates "taqaddum wa ta'akhur" i. e. normal structural positions from "taqdeem wa ta'kheer" i. e. inversion. The researcher handles inversion on two levels: The first is the structural level whose standard being the Arabic sentence patterns. The second is the collocation level whose standard is the frequency of use of specific lexical collocations. The present study highlights the rhetorical significance of inversion in statements and questions as well as lexical collocations (arrangement and rearrangement). It stresses the relationship between the lexical ambiguity of Qur'anic collocations and rearrangement via inversion as well as the relationship with other rhetorical phenomena such as saj،. The study traces the frequency of inverted Qur'anic expressions occurring at the end of verses ended with one of the Attributes of God. The study falls in an introduction, three parts, a complement, an appendix and a conclusion. Part I: The Rhetorical significance of Lexical Inversion includes two chapters. The first is Types of Lexical Arrangement; the second is Applied Analysis of the Types of Deviation from Standard Arrangement Patterns. Part II: The Rhetorical Significance of Structural Inversion includes two chapters. The first is The Significance of Inversion in Statements; the second is The Significance of Inversion in Questions. Part III: Inversion for preserving saj،. Complement: The Efforts of Ibn Al-Saa'gh in his Manuscript. The Conclusion summarizes the main findings of the study.
