Body , Authority and knowledge: An analytical study for contribution of Michele Foucault in establishment of sociology of the body - Abstract: Sociology of the body represents one of the promising branches of sociology . This discipline was developed since eighties of 20th century through an efforts of a number of scholars in Europe and United States. Many scholars from a different disciplines – such as philosophy, psychology and anthropology – have indirectly contributed in development this discipline. The recent study starts with a main issue :Michele Foucault (1926 – 1984) introduced an important contribution in establishment of sociology of the body through his studies about body, authority and knowledge, and his invention of a new methodological tools in discourse analysis as archeology and genealogy. The paper is divided into three topics: 1 – Development of sociological interest of the body. 2 – Contribution of M. Foucault in establishment of sociology of the body. 3 –Foucauldian effect in development of sociology of the body.
