The Economic Role of Women in Petolemaic and Roman age in Egypt

the region of Arsinoites Nomein Egypt during the two periods: the Ptolemaic and Raman. It consists of a preface, three chapters and a conclusion. The preface deals with the location of the village in the region of Arsinoites. The village of PtolemaisHormos – currently El-Lahon – at the entrance of the region by two water points defined by Distomos in the east and Tristomosin the west at the entrance of the village in the section of Herakleidesin the region of Arsinoites Nome. Chapter one deals with administrative system in the village of PtolemaisHormosduring the two periods: the Ptolemaic and the Roman, the security, municipal, and the economic administration of the village. The researcher started with a general survey of the administrative system in the Egyptian villages and cities during this period, and then the administrativesystem of the village under discussion through the documents related to the village. The second chapter consists of two sections: section one deals with social aspects of the village of PtolemaisHormos, discussing the classes of population of the village and the houses they lived in. As a tourist monument, the region of Arsinoiteswitnessed the visit of too many tourists during the ptolomic period, to see the region and attend the Ptolemaieiafestival from the documents of the village. The second section deals with the religious aspects in the village of PtolemaisHormos with all its gods, religions and temples in the two related periods. The third and last chapter deals with the economic aspects of the village of Ptolemaic Hormosrelated to irrigation and agriculture in the village. It surveys its agricultural lands, its crops during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. It deals also with industry and commerce in the village, which was a linking point of transportation; either form the north to the capital of the region or the capital of the country. Or the far south to the regions of Herakliopolisand Oxyrhynchite, and the existence of a governmental bank there.Finally, the conclusion includes the findings of the study.
